Weekend Wishes

Weekend wishes 7

Hi there! Hope you have some fun weekend plans? I’m headed off to see Cirque du Soleil later today, and am super excited! It’s been on my wish list for quite a while. Here are a few things I’m dreaming of at the moment.

Try: a twist on a classic (These PB & J cookies seem like such a fun variation on an a timeless snack. They’d be perfect for graduation parties, or to celebrate the start of summer. The recipes comes from How Sweet Eats — a current blog crush!)

Find: a comfy spot to relax (I’ve wanted a hammock for as long as I can remember. I’d love to spend an afternoon here.)

Play: with stripes (Sigh. Does Gwyneth have any flaws? I love her shirt/ skirt combo here. Stripes never fail to catch my eye.)

PS. I highly suggest reading this article. There will be laughing involved.

Have: a French breakfast (Doesn’t a cappuccino and a croissant sound amazing? I’ve just discovered a wonderful crepe place nearby. Their lemon sugar crepes are my favorite.)

Wear: dressed up basics (I love how using an unexpected fabric or print can update such a basic item. This charcoal silk shirt would get a lot of use in my closet.)

Dine: outdoors (It really does makes any meal better.)

Have a relaxing weekend!

Embrace: spring’s details (Right now, it’s things like lace and sheer fabrics that are catching my eye, not necessarily bold colors.)

Make: your mom breakfast (I love doing this, but for some reason, this year I’m stumped! Any ideas? Everything I think of seems much too ordinary.)

Give: A thoughtful card (I’m in love with this idea from A Daily Something. It really makes you think, and your mom will be so appreciative.)

Have: afternoon tea (It’s the perfect excuse to enjoy a leisurely afternoon.)

Wearcoral and gray (My closet consists of way too many coral pieces – I’m slightly addicted to this universally flattering color.)

Make: peanut butter ice cream sandwiches (A twist on a classic, with peanut butter cookies sandwiching vanilla ice cream.)

Hope your weekend is sun-filled!

Visit: your nearest botanical garden (I think it’s great to enjoy all the flowers that show up around your city or yard, but I love going to a garden once every season and just being completely overwhelmed by them.)

Discover: air plants (I think they’re so unique — and impossibly easy to care for — so this post about unique display options grabbed my attention. My favorite are the wall planters from Farrah Sit.)

Make: White Chocolate and Pecan Cookies (These are the best cookies I’ve had in a while. Of course, I couldn’t resist adding in some dark chocolate as well.)

Hope your weekend is filled with flowers and sun!

Plan: a weekend getaway (I think I’ve been attacked by the travel bug. I just want to pack up and go anywhere, like right this minute. Texas? Tuscany? I’m not particular.)

Make: homemade Almond Joys (These look amazing on so many levels. First of all, coconut and chocolate, but they’re also incredibly easy – you probably have all the ingredients – and they’ll be ready in just 30 minutes.)

Be: extra thankful (Give your dog a hug, or your parents a call. I think it’s so easy to take each day for granted, when each day is really like a tiny miracle!)

Have a great weekend!

Wear: denim on denim (This trend has been popping up all over this season. What do you think? I love chambray shirts, but generally try never to wear them with jeans. I just can’t seem to reprogram myself to believe it’s no longer a fashion faux pas.)

Display: flowers as art (You might argue that flowers are art in and of themselves, which may be true. However, displaying them in unique vases – like these diamond ones – makes them even more unforgettable.)

Find: The perfect spring sandal (I hope to pick up a few spring staples this weekend, and a great pair of leather sandals that will last all season are at the top of my list.)

Drink: iced coffee- using this recipe, naturally (It’s finally the season again, and I’ve definitely been making up for lost time! Although, I’m sure for a few of you the season never really ended.)

Admire: Julia Kostreva (Her work is just beautiful. If you happen to be in the market for an iPhone case, your search just ended.)

Make: a bouquet, inspired by pink and orange (This combination seems so appropriate for spring. It’s pretty, but still subdued.)

Are looking forward to soaking up the sunshine this weekend?

Eat: eggs for breakfast (I think it’s required to work eggs into your Easter celebration in some form? I love this frittata from Lauren.)

Drink: Easter mimosas (This version is actually called the Fizzy Bunny. It includes carrot juice. Don’t hate me.)

Wear: Floral flats (I’m not usual that into florals, but these shoes have just the right touch. They remind me of the Easter Sunday dresses I would wear as a child. Luckily we’re past that stage!)

How will you be celebrating this weekend?

Find: your spring polish (All my nail colors at the moment are dreadfully dark- the opposite of what the season demands. I’m thinking OPI’s My Paprika is Hotter than Yours might spice things up!)

Mix + Match: your wardrobe (I’m planning to sort through my clothes this weekend, before starting spring shopping. While I’m at it, I hope to be inspired enough to try some new combinations with what I have.)

Add: color! (Spring seems to be dragging it’s feet this year. Maybe if we go ahead and pretend it’s already here, it will feel more welcome? A girl can dream..)

What are you up to this weekend?
